ArtFutura - Barcelona

Digital technology festival ArtFutura has chronicled the rapid evolution of digital technology since launching twenty years ago, showcasing cutting-edge developments in areas such as virtual reality, the internet and artificial life.

The festival provides a 360 degree snapshot of how technology-dependent our lives are (as if we needed further proof of that) as well as consistently exploring upcoming trends in digital culture, giving some foresight into how digital technology may shape the future.

So if you can tear yourself away from Facebook for long enough, head down to Imagina Auditorio (courtesy of directions from your iPhone or GPS system) to shake hands with a cyborg or lose yourself of virtual hyper-reailty.

Art Futura: Multitouch-Bcn - Barcelona

Multitouch-Barcelona is a project that was initiated in 2008 by four youngsters. The group started off with a solid technological base that has expanded to other fields in order to satisfy the curiosity of its members. Presently, the group combines technology with multiple disciplines such as communication, design and interaction.

The principal objective of its integrants is to implicate people in unique experiences. The concept of "user" is too superficial to continue being useful; they prefer to speak of people, of their feelings and their emotions.

One of their latest projects, "HI, a real human interface", suggests the nature of their focus to experiment with the experiencial. The importance of the human figure becomes evident in this audiovisual project in which there is no better interface than human beings themselves.

Artist Unknown at BeCool - After Dark - Barcelona

Artist Unknown (Live)
DJohnston

Artist unknown are not at all what they call themselves--known to insiders as DJ Clé and Mike Vamp, the two long serving Berlin DJs also produce for Pokerflat Records under their Märtini Brös moniker.

Artist Unknown was chosen as an alias for their electro output in the late nineties, and--in the middle of a global electro hype--found Clé and Mike releasing some very successful records on Disko B, flirting with drexciyan atmosphere and old school beats. Their latest work is more akin to the electro clash sound.

Block rocking beats straight outta Berlin.

Btw: my favourite Berlin guide is Long hot summer - Urban Beach Emulation

Long hot summer - Urban Beach Emulation

Berlin is about to go summer crazy. No matter if you're a foreigner living in Berlin or just a temporary guest - it's inevitable that everyone back home will hound you for suggestions of a good Berlin summer tour.

With such an incredible array of unique spots at a variety of strand bars, sport spots, open-air theaters and endless under-the-sky clubs every week, it's always difficult to pick the right spots to rule them all.

And that's simply because every Berlin summer day is usually guaranteed great events, vibrant mood and stylishly debauched parties.

Berliners' faces you might not see out so much in the winter are everywhere in the summer; the typical Berlin hibernation is over and it's time to let it go. Go outside! Go for a round of Boule, visit the wonderful lake sides outside the city, take your BBQ right by the Spree, put the Burgers on the grill, chill and be prepared for a good smoke.

What started with vino tino and tostada de huevos de codorniz in Barcelona turned into a full-fledged love affair with the city of Barcelona.

Vienna surprised us even more with an artist's haven of a place, offspace, that we would have never expected to find in Austria's capital.

After few stressful weeks hovered over the computer, we sojourned to peaceful Copenhagen and recharged at one of the city's foliage-filled gardens.

Suddenly, we found ourselves with three more cities on our radar. Barcelona, Vienna and Copenhagen: countless of hours collecting, testing, and editing. We're taking a little weekend vacation now--we've earned it.
