KW Institute for Contemporary Art presents their annual selection of films from last year's Cologne KunstFilmBiennale. From the opening on January 10th with "Wanderlust in 3D" (2008) by Björk until the 25th, films by Hans Op de Beeck, Florian Gwinner, Keren Cytter and others will be screened within five themes: "Twist and Art," "Lonely," "Metropolitana," "BodyArt/Eternal Youth," and "Homage to the Cinema."
Films by renown artists like Marina Abramovic, Doug Aitken and Sarah Morris are shown next to works by the younger generation, including Nathalie Djurberg, Hans Op de Beeck or Markus Schinwald. Additionally the two prize winning works, "Lonely Planet" by Julian Rosefeldt and "Stealing Beauty" by Guy Ben-Ner, headline the exhibition.
With specially designed large-screen presentations as well as individual viewing areas the exhibition offers space to actually sit down and watch the videos, and not just pass by gazillions of screens.
