As Piers pointed out earlier, the internet does not forget. If your information is being broadcast to everyone, you should at least control the content to the best of your ability. And with Squidder's new Twitter Feed augmented reality T-Shirt, you can become a walking beacon for whatever you twit about. No longer just for your internet buddies, the shirt lets your thoughts pop out into the real world.

Printed on the front of the shirt is a kind of bar-code that contains your Twitter user name. When an appropriate sensing device (phone, laptop) is pointed at it, your latest Twitter update will virtually appear. Watch this concept technology in action in the video below, and check out Squidder blog for more next level augmented reality experiments.

What a trip - around the world in 30 days ...
time enough to release fresh four additions to the unlike radar

In São Paulo, adversity feeds creativity: factories and prisons become arts centers, traffic jams result in an ever-growing trade in helicopter rentals, rooftops are transformed into luxury bars, designers launch collaborative shops, graffiteros revitalize decaying buildings and, at underground clubs, DJs spin away till well after sunrise. Famous for its hanging chads, Cuban exiles, Jewish grandmothers, Gianni Versace, Scarface and wild club scene, Miami, constantly threatened by annual hurricanes, is here to stay, regardless of botoxed appearances. (follow miami.unlike via Twitter)

Most people have a, shall we say, Harold & Kumar-infused vision of Amsterdam as a haven for druggies and johns, but the locals prefer a less Sodom & Gomorrah but more Rembrandt portrayal of their picturesque canal-ridden hometown ... (follow amsterdam.unlike via Twitter)

Teetering on two sides of the Cultural Revolution (the opulence reached in the 1920s-1930s and the meteoric development of the past two decades), Shanghai stands as a symbol of its many influences and capacity for countless experiences. Its overwhelming architecture and continuously morphing skyline tower over ancient vestiges of traditional living, providing an astonishing scope of historic proportions. You have a Twitter account, and you're following some people. Some of those people are now following you back and you're thinking "great, now what?" Or maybe you saw my Viral Tweet Test and are wondering how to accomplish the same effect for your content.

In my Viral Content Sharing Survey I uncovered a bunch of information that could prove useful to you if you're trying to go viral via Twitter.

First, understand that as gregarious early-adopters Twitter users a very infectious vector to seed your viral content into. Twitter users tend to share content more often and with more people that the average user (in both one-to-one and especially in one-to-many ways). This means that it's probably a good idea to Tweet your new content, and include "Tweet this" buttons to make sharing easier.

Next we can look at where Twitter users tend to share content from. Here we see that they prefer spreading content from blogs and social news sites (rather than mainstream news, a favorite of non-Twitter users). If you want your content to go viral, don't do a press release or use a PR agency; post it to your blog and get it submitted to a social news site.

Lastly, determine what kind of content they like to share most often. The data says that compared to non-Twitter users (who share mostly humor) Twitter users prefer sharing news, opinion and even instructional content.

For data on more user profiles, check out the rest of my Viral Content Sharing Survey.

After months of hard work and serious cramming, we've gone live. We welcome London to the Unlike family, especially because it's a good excuse to jet west and indulge. No European city guide is complete without the continent's biggest city, which is why we're proud to present london.unlike.net. Enjoy!

We've just officially launched our 2008 fund raising campaign at Creative Commons. It's a really tough time to be raising money and I realize many people are worried about their own finances, but that's why we need your support more than ever.

I really believe that we've reached a critical moment in the adoption of Creative Commons and that all of the pieces are coming together. We are making huge strides in Science, Education and Culture in both the legal and technical specifications for the interoperability that allows frictionless sharing. The impact on all sectors will be huge and I think it will affect everyone.

The campaign this year has an interesting twist. As you may know, we've been exploring the idea of a copyright registry. One of the key components of such a registry is user authentication. We realized that whenever someone donates to Creative Commons, we have a basic authentication of sorts. We also realized that CC has a decent brand and we decided to test the idea of giving a CC OpenID to everyone who gives during this campaign. We're not sure exactly how this initiative is going to develop, but we'd love your feedback on how you like it and what you think we can do with this. We've tied in some other neat license related stuff in addition to the OpenID which I'll blog about later today in more detail. You can test this OpenID thing by making a contribution. ;-)

We're also launching a video project asking for people to contribute 90-second videos explaining how you use CC and why you support CC. This should be very cool and would REALLY love for you to participate and pass this on to anyone you think who might have a good story to tell. Jesse Dylan, per my previous post, has made a great short video about CC. Hopefully this will inspire you. Remember that you're free to reuse/remix this in making your own story.

We need to raise $500,000 by the end of the year. If you are a corporation and would like to try the matching gift program, that seems to work well too. We really need your help. Thanks.

You can find the press release for the CC Network and the Jesse Dylan video for more information.

On November 22nd, YouTube will host a two-hour event in San Francisco, "a celebration of the site's vast user communities." Looks like we can expect performances from Akon, Soulja Boy, will.i.am and a bunch of online video-powered Weblebrities. And it will be broadcast live over the Internet. So, it turns out that Steve Chen was right after all -- YouTube will have introduced live streaming video by the end of the year.

And departed Silicon Alley Insider reporter Michael Learmonth wasn't entirely wrong in his article saying that Google had nixed the idea. Google and YouTube won't necessarily be offering live streaming video to users of the site any time soon. Why, when the search advertising company is already stuck subsidizing YouTube and venture capitalists are happy to continue subsidizing sites like Justin.tv and Ustream with their own money?
